This paper is written Yanchun Xie, a year one Ph.D. student, supervised by Jimin Xiao and Tammam Tillo. This paper has been accepted for presentation in IEEE ICME (International Conference on Multimedia and Expo) 2016 which will be held in Seattle, USA from July 11 to July 15, 2016.

The IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME) has been the flagship multimedia conference sponsored by four IEEE societies since 2000. It serves as a forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in multimedia technologies, systems, and applications from both the research and development perspectives of the circuits and systems, communications, computer, and signal processing communities.

Yanchun Xie joined MMTlab since less than eight months, and he obtained this big achievement in such a short time while he was preparing for his Ph.D. start. Thanks to his hard working, and the University’s support, he finally got a scholarship to start his Ph.D. in April. The research topic of his Ph.D. is about 3D images super resolution using deep learning.
