(Apr 15th, 2016) A journal paper entitled “Multiview video plus depth transmission via virtual-view-assisted complementary down/upsampling”(Download the paper here) authored by Zhi JIN, was recently accepted by one of the EURASIP journals in image/video processing field, EURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing.

This work targets on reducing the transmitted video data size and enhancing the user perceived video quality. Nowadays in 3D video field, the real scene can be captured from different viewpoints to enable multiview 3D video experience. In this work the video is reduced by half size before transmission and then it is recovered at the receiver side with a minimum quality degradation. Compared with some state-of-the-art approaches, the proposed method provides better results. With its novel and practical mechanism, the proposed approach received interests from the reviewers which makes this work got accepted.

Zhi JIN ( has already published 8 international conference papers, 2 journal papers, and received the best "interactive demo" award at IEEE GCCE2014.
